May Day! May Day! That all-time distress signal may be appropriate for Hop Up this month. It's ironic that we were just complimented for having fresh rod jive every month and - wouldn't ya know it? We're going to take a break from all you red-blooded, beer-guzzlin' real rodders. For a month - or so.

Call it Spring fever, man. We've had a brutal winter (for us, anyway), and now the sun started shinin' and - you know the beat: : IT'S ROADSTER WEATHER So we'll be roadstering and rodding for a few weeks, collecting thoughts, and watching the chassis Guru start our 5W project.

Even so, the Rattle Can Nats is scheduled for May 30, at the Harris Ranch Inn parking lot on I-5, in Coalinga, Ca. It's for primered or beater cars only, rods or customs, and absolutely no agenda, plans or formalities. The River City Roadster guys will be there anyway, on one of their 'turnarounds', so come on down if ya like! Harris Ranch knows nothing about this. They neither sponsor it or necessarily endorse it; it's just where we're staying..

Some of us will go in on Friday nite, and some will stay over 'til Sunday A.M.

We'll be in touch pretty soon and - remember to look coool.
