Mainstream Magazine Report

Another expose on hot rodding has appeared, this time in the slick, American history monthly American Heritage.

It kinda paraphrases Batchelor's book, and that's cool, because Dean chronicled the real deal, and so did this piece. The difference between the AH article and the recent pseudo-condescension from Automobile was that this one was written by an expert - a hot rodder at various times in his career- who otherwise has huge credits as a writer and as an enthusiast. Brock Yates. It's a pleasureable read because he selected the right photos, cryptically cited the history of the thing, and presented it to a largely egghead audience in a digestable and kinda reverent way. You might want to look the article up and - for patriotic reasons - look at the periodical as a possible regular entry onto your reading list.

But let's not go too mainstream. Don't wanna lose our edge.

Hop Up Honor. Stay Honor.

Peter Vincent threw this in with the feature he did for the printed book. Nice bonus we'd say. Do you see the name of the saloon? Right here in River City we don't even have our own 'River City Saloon'. Mercy.

The Buick is understated and sooooo cool. Vincent always give you lots to see, but leaves some mystery for you.......we wanna know all about the car. And who are those galloots in the car? Are they going TO or FROM the Saloon?
